A Gigantic Leap or A Step?

Hoping that your Thanksgiving Weekend was nothing sure of awesome here is one of our guest bloggers. Coming to you live from the financial capital of the world...New York here's Ms. Nicole Gentry. I first met Nicole a few years back and have never regretted a single moment because like all of us she is a TOP NOTCH MARKETER! So, my short introduction should be your clue as to how important her message to you all is today.......Nicole?

Good Morning Everyone,

O.K. You’ve attended the best business seminars. You’ve read the best books on self-improvement, businesses start-ups etc. You’ve gone to bed late nights because you were on teleconference calls. You’ve spent $9.99, $19.99 and $29.99 over and over and over again purchasing various programs for your business success.

It’s time, you’ve decided. Regardless of any and all negativity, criticism, anxiety, the nightly news reports, a republican or democratic president, the stock market, the naysayers, “I am going to Step outside of my comfort zone. I am going to do something for myself.” Great. Applaud yourself! Most people haven’t and never will make this decision. But guess what? There are others who have decided to do something for themselves too. While you’ve decided to take A Step outside your comfort zone they’ve decided to take A Gigantic Leap outside theirs. With this attitude not only will they Leap pass you they may knock you over and out.

Why A Gigantic Leap and not A Step? Chances are you’ve been in this so-called comfort zone for a long long time. In this so-called comfort zone at a certain point you’ve come to realize that it’s a place of total and complete discomfort. Whether you openly admit it or not you’ve probably experienced unnecessary pains, continuous set backs, shame, unhappiness, disappointments, guilt feelings, poor health, a lack of gratitude, enthusiasm, courage, opportunities for growth and development, loss of friendships in various walks of life, money, peace of mind, an opportunity for a stable home, real love and self respect.

Why A Gigantic Leap and not A Step? For some taking A Step would be like a walk on a pond that on the surface looks as if it’s frozen until they take that fatal step and wind up at the bottom. Taking A Step, when the winds of challenge begin to blow will likely hurl you back and deeper into your so-called comfort zone.

By taking A Gigantic Leap you will move abruptly to new thoughts and actions. By taking A Gigantic Leap your new thoughts and actions will increase in frequency and size. A Gigantic Leap will propel you up and over your obstacles. No longer will you experience the bottom of anything. You’ll be repositioned. From a different view, different thoughts, feelings and actions begin to emerge. Even if you wanted to you couldn’t Step anywhere any longer. A Step would be too small an action for you. By taking A Gigantic Leap out of your so-called comfort zone you’ll increase your capacity to take on more and more. Take on bigger and bigger. Feelings of lack, pain and loss have no choice except to vanish.

You decide. A Gigantic Leap or A Step?
___________________________________________________________________
Can I afford to remain in my so-called comfort zone? What would this cost me?

Can I afford to return to my so-called comfort zone? What would this cost me?

Will I achieve all that I dream of in my so-called comfort zone?

Are you prepared to take A Gigantic Leap? If not, explain why.

The Truth About NO SOLICITING And How To Get Around It To Prospect

Hello Everyone!

As marketers we are always confronted in one way or another with potential clients/customers with this message. From a person's body language and often through their signage.

I wanted to share with you one of the ways that I am learning to use.

It's called, "FAX BACK MARKETING". Now, many of us may not have thought to use the fax machine except to send our message out, but what if there were a technique that you could use to get people to fax you instead with their inquiry.

This is how it works:
*You just walk into the target businesses with a one sheet double sided message.
*On one side is your advertisement
*On the other side is your fax back form with 5 or 6 lines on it that they will fill out and send back to you. (1. Name of their business; 2. Their telephone #; 3. The best time for you to call them back; 4. Type of business; 5. (If you sell multiple items ask what they are interested in; 6. What you offer

You simply walk in and hand that to them and walk out. SIMPLE PLAN.
They are bound to read your sales piece and make a decision. Either to throw it away (which in the end will save you alot of time, money and energy because you will take them off of your "COLD" list) or they will keep it and call or fax you back.

Remember, keep a list of the businesses that you have already reached out to so that you will know which you went to and whether or not to go back.

Also if you look up the word solicit in the dictionary you will see that nothing we just revealed to you denotes its definition.

What The Great Depression Taught Us...

Good Morning To Everyone!

2008 and we're on the brink of another depression in America. However, there are some lessons to learn since the news broke in the late 1920's through 30's. My grandmother (God rest her soul) was an insightful woman who taught us some lessons about business since she lived through "The Great Depression".

On the brink of her 20's this depression hit and like most budding 20 year olds the spirit of entrepreneurship was on her mind. Grandma kept that spirit alive even in the midst of great turmoil and through that she persevered.

She opened a business in the house and rented out the extra bedrooms which made her have an income during the worse of times. It was her thinking that in order to make money a person should look at "practical" options. Provide something that people need and you will NEVER go broke. In other words, "Find A Need And Fill It".

In the end, grandma owned a business for over 40 years and taught us another golden rule. "For any business that you own see if you can do it from home. That way you won't have to pay two rents. Or, own the building that your business is in."

The lesson I am now learning is that we all have a chance in this present economy to go into business for ourselves if we just have the desire, tools and most of all the will to make it happen.

Here's one tool to get you started:

COUPONS: Who'd a Thunk It!

Did you ever wonder why coupons are so popular?
Have you ever used them?

In marketing they are used to get the word out about a product. You know, EXPOSURE!

In sales they are used as a way to get you to buy something that you may not necessarily buy or would otherwise wait until it became a price you want. You know, BEST OFFER!

In advertising they are used to track sales. We all know how TRACKING OUR TRAFFIC is key to our efforts that support how much we spend and where.

In other words, they put the ad in the circular, you see it and think it's a good deal. They've added a bar code so that when or if you decide to use it then they will know where you used it, when you used it and often from what circular you pulled the coupon from. GENIUS!

So, has this got you thinking of using coupons along with your ads?

I know I have and I've even started printing my coupons on the back of my business cards so that others can receive the benefit of handing my card to someone else as well.

Would love to hear your feedback!

Claude Hopkins The Father of Scientific Advertising

Good Day Everyone!
Maybe you've heard of him or maybe not, but I want to shed some light on this man who has and continues to inspire some of the best men and women in the world of advertising, marketing and sales.

Claude Hopkins became one of the most important men to uncover the understanding that advertising is in fact a science. Written during the 1920's, his book, "Scientific Advertising" revolutionized how salesmen at the time appealed to their customers.

Now, it may not be important to note, but as America was in the throes of the "INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION" when he was born it stands true that the countless men and women who became outstanding in the field of sales would adopt his thinking in order to take the world by storm with American made products.

An economically robust America meant competition and he, Claude Hopkins, being the father of the thought of advertising as a science would transform American business.

It wasn't until this man got his readers to get into the customer's mind and relate to their thinking by telling the stories of their companies were they able to outsell their competition. It is a theme that exists until today.

In short, he got us thinking more about telling how much our products and services will benefit our clients and customers and then relating to them with what we have.

I would suggest that we all take a look at his work:

SCIENTIFIC ADVERTISING. Here's a free link to read it

See what his ideas are that have lasted over 100 years.....Would love to hear your feedback!

Optimizing Your Marketing Efforts

There are tons of internet marketers around the world that are selling one thing or another to eager people either just looking and read their sales pitch and decided to buy or people who were already searching for that product/service and put their information on the site for the marketer to send them what they purchased.

It's no secret that what this blog was designed for was to motivate, connect, share, build a list and furthermore MARKET to an existing group of predetermined folks reaching over the internet for their healthy helping of online profits.

Optimizing is what we call in marketing getting to the front of the line! We want people to see us and get to know us for our niche which in turn will put them in our marketing system. As long as we put ourselves in front of them on a consistent basis, then we are in the optimization phase of our efforts.

One clear way to start out is with your pre-existing tools. Many of us have email addresses that we reach out to others with. Well, now that you are in business why not put an automated signature at the end of your emails so that each time you send an email those whom you reach out to will know you and your business up front.

If you have a website that's even better because you can add this address to your emails and I'll even send you instructions on how to imbed the code into your website so that you don't have to keep putting http://www.????. Instead you can create links without making your prospects have to put your address in their search box.

There's an already marked territory for you to begin. Your next task is to boost your presence to people that you don't already know.....

More, next time!

So You Think Marketing Has Nothing To Do With You

I was on the phone the other day with an associate who said that she just wasn't a salesperson. I was in shock because ever since the day we began speaking to one another at a TOASTMASTER'S meeting I just automatically figured her to be this outstanding personality who could probably sell ice to penguins.

In any case, as the conversation progressed into this "well what do you think selling is?" I then began to realize that our ideas of selling were totally different and that although we were doing the same thing we were of different minds.

She let me know that she had to believe in herself and not just the product because that takes a person from helping to just surviving because at the end of every conversation with a prospect you (the seller) are thinking "I've got to sell this person so that I can meet my quota". I started listening even more intensely because I wanted to know the difference. I mean helping people and receiving some form of compensation so that you can survive financially is ultimately the name of the game. Of course you know she begged to differ.

By the end of our conversation I was thoroughly convinced that although we thought quite differently on this subject I had a new perspective on what I do.

The philosophy in selling is to get a solid understanding of yourself to go out there and help other people see from their perspective how your product or service could be beneficial to them. Don't just pick a product or service to "sell", but believe enough in yourself to go out there and make a living helping others achieve their end results because you are going to reap the benefit if you help enough of them.

See yourself as a helper or in some cases healer. Get into their shoes and the best way to do this is by talking to them and finding out what their needs are. Now I know some of the readers will say, "but I don't have time to sit and listen to their story because I have a bottomline to reach every month!" That's why there are lead systems that are developed like social and business networking sites, meetings, article marketing and paid referral ideas. If you help one person in the right way, they will be your door to others. THIS IS CALLED MARKETING!

Marketing is the prep work that Selling borrows from in the end. When all is said and done you've got to believe in you and then your product or service keeping in mind that helping people achieve their end result with what you have will reap you massive benefits....

Have you heard? Bennigan's and Steak/Ale have closed their doors. It reminded me of how often businesses get caught in the economic crossfires that employees end up paying for. In the end the parent companies clear themselves and start fresh somewhere else or put the money that they were using to keep their fledgling interests alive into new ventures.

Now why should that matter to any of us?

Either at present or some time in the past you wear or wore the title, "EMPLOYEE". It used to mean alot having a decent job, a good salary some place that you thought cared about you. Don't get me wrong there are still some places out there, but very few which is why this blog was created.

I wanted to have a place for serious marketers to write openly about their experiences, the latest news and information, their successes, their businesses, their thoughts on business and virtually to get us networking with one another because we are a generation of people who have to do what's best for us to survive.

The big companies do it that's why they downsize, small businesses do it to so why not you and I?

Going into business for yourself is something that many people in this country have done and will continue to do. Isn't it time for you to get your share of stability by making your own decisions instead of waiting for someone to count your hours and base your performance on their attitude?

So, my offer to you is that you share your ideas with us, engage in conversation about your business, your successful mindset and ultimately let's work to make things happen!

Getting More From Yourself By Learning Others

Hey Everyone!

I find that one of the biggest challenges we face in the realm of HOME BASED business marketing is getting and staying revved up about what we do. Of course the end result is to make money, but in between you have to keep up with the current trends, redesign some of your own and then go out there and get noticed.

It's sometimes a lonely and daunting task, but you figure that somebody has to do it. Now, our company is a little different because we're a team of people working together in our respective businesses all lending some aspect to one another and networking our businesses to stay fresh and alive.

I offer websites, another colleague offers managerial services for those trying to break into the music industry and the list goes on. My point here is that we all do a little so that we don't have to spin our wheels trying to come up with new ways and ideas for marketing.

Our businesses may not be in common, but our mindset sure is. I believe that it was Napolean Hill who first suggested creating a Millionaire Mindset and to create that bond that helps generate success for all.

Okay for now.......KEEP MARKETING and stay with us.....

Blogging To Build A Network of Business

It has been an adventurous time in our office over the last few days. While we're not short on creativity it's been just too nice outside to stay cooped up inside.

So, we took our computers to the beach, to the park, to the front porch and just decided to re-locate to stay inspired.

We lucked up on a social networking site: www.Salespider.com . Needless to say it is home to thousands of business people all looking to get their message out there.

What we decided to do is to reach out to them and see just what their mindset is. Well, it didn't take long to see that there are some really great people out there making their mark on the business world some at home and others who are semi-independent.

We've asked some of them to come and blog with us and share their thoughts......

Hope to see you and them soon!

Business Card Marketing

I just received some business cards today with an interesting twist. Not only were they handsomely done, but they included something that many cards that get tossed don't.

A REFERRAL PROGRAM!

So, while the person was handing them to me they said, "you are holding $100 in your hand". I was looking quite puzzled because in my world money doesn't look like a business card. Funny thing once I turned to the back of the card it read "$20 for each paid referral" of course I was holding five in my hand and then it hit me.

Many marketers are out there trying to get people to take their card in order to remember who they are when in fact one of the key ways to get them to keep your card is to offer them something in return.

Which leads me to the important part. When you decide to get business cards see if there is a way for you to offer those who can be your eyes and ears as well as your "virtually no-risk partners" a piece of the action. I believe that this will cut down on alot of your cards being thrown away.
